August 01. - Nice one with low activity
Six meters was promising from the early morning on with very loud signals from southeast Europe into Central Europe and the UK while OIRT was booming in southwest France. BC from I, SV and TA started into DL, G and PA0 at app. 08.00 UT and at 08:50 144 was open from SV into ON while LZ was into F a little later. The band opened from SV2/3 into PA0 and G while YU and LZ made F and later southern Italy was into PA0 and DL. Last sigs at 10:14 UT and, surprise, even BC was down within minutes. Several OP said that the activity was pretty poor.

Lots of cq-Es calls from ON/PA, even G4SWX was 59+ with the antenna on SV, but only SV3CYM could be heard 57 on 144.290 at 0954 for a minute or two... No QSO tried... 73/Herbert

A nice suprise :-)
Worked sv2jl kn10lo on cw and ssb, it happened here in 3 mini openings from 0905 to 09:59. Also hrd sv3cym but he was swallowed by qrm from stns chatting on tropo (also super tropo>>SE. DL, S. F, HB9, OE, S5, 9A and Italy, hope for more 2night!)

Very strange condx in IO81 this morning. There was no sign of Es on six meters or band 2. However SV2JL was hrd briefly and 4N6MN was consistant for about 10mins @ 52 with QSB. I made one call to 4N6MN but the QRM was out of this world.
Nil worked. Ah well next time 73 all
