June 04. 2003 - Nice one late in the evening | Please send your comments/reports/log-sheets/audios to DK5YA

Day started very poor, even 50 MHz was dead like a doornail until noon. Early in the afternoon few Es clouds formed both in the eastern and western part of Europe. The one above Biscay finally crossed the ''magic line'' at 19.00 UT when suddenly lots of BC was into UK and EI. At 19.30 UT 144 opened from EA5,6 and EA7 into G, GW, EI, GI and PA0. MUF was like a Jo-Jo, up'n down. But at 20:17 Es came back much stronger, now also to DL, ON, OK, OZ and HB9 and EA and EA6 still pretty strong into G and EI. Wide spread opening until 21:12 UT.
Involved DXCC: G, GW, GI, EI, PA0, ON, OZ, OK, DL, HB9, EA, EA6, CT

Unfortunatly tonight it was a *very* short Es on 144MHz.
Even so, it's better than nothing :0). See you on 2m.

This is the big shot ! Esporadic (no new #) and a very nice surprise : My fisrt QSO´s in FAI to Italy.
The big problem is all the Italy people as OK1TEH maybe are coming from the Pub and the voice is very "scrambled" hi hi hi (just a joke)
To OK1TEH sorry very much to take you out of Pub, but OK1MZM is the guilty.

It was a short opening, but very productive !, 100W + 9 ele. At 19:42 I hear PA3BGM very weak calling another station, in a very short opening. Then nothing. I was very frustrated ! In the DX Cluster I was seeing EA5 and EA7 east from me working G's. But at 20:56 the show begun !

IONOSCATTER conditions have been amazing, if they get just a little better I will be trying FM qso's on ionoscatter! Many more stations now becoming active for this propagation which is great. I hope you can find a spot for this to encourage more stations to try it a single yagi and 400W is plenty when conditions are good.

worked EB5HRX IM99TL 5/9 5/7 @ 20:58 UTC, but he did not get my locator, and has my call as G4HGN, maybe next time, hi! This evening the Es was up and down with me, I heard G8RWG work EH5EZJ, but couldn't hear the Spanish staion at all, even though Niels is only 15Kms away.
So far this season has been better than all of last year for me, lets hope it continues,

By surprise I saw that the band opend up late in the evening. Heard were CT1FAK and a CT2? station for quite some time at 21.02 ut. At 21.25ut with typical FAI sound I heard again CT1FAK QTF 252deg. for over5 min RS 51 to 53. Never before I heard at QTF 250 any FAI. What a surprise.´Interesting.´Still looking for my last EA/CT square IM69
